Effective date: July 25, 2025
The Cactus Rose is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. I’m actively working to improve the user experience and apply relevant accessibility standards wherever possible.
Conformance Status
My goal is to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) to the greatest extent feasible within the constraints of a small, independently run blog. Some parts of the site may not yet fully conform, and I’m continuing to make improvements.
What I’m Doing
- Using a WordPress.com theme and block editor with broadly accessible markup
- Providing meaningful link text and descriptive image alt attributes where possible
- Maintaining sufficient color contrast based on my brand palette
- Avoiding content that relies solely on color or motion
- Structuring content with proper headings for better screen-reader navigation
Known Limitations
Because this is a one-person project, you may encounter:
- Occasional missing or incomplete alt text on older images
- Third-party embeds or widgets that I don’t control (and may not fully meet WCAG)
- PDFs or external documents that aren’t fully accessible
If you run into an issue, please let me know—I want to fix it.

Technical Compatibility
This site is designed to work with:
- The latest versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge)
- Mobile and desktop devices
- Common assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers) supported by those browsers
Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As I publish new posts, redesign sections, or add features, I’ll continue to assess and improve accessibility across the site.
If you have suggestions, I genuinely want to hear them. Thank you for helping make The Cactus Rose more usable for everyone. 🌵
